Born in Washington State in April 1984, 

as Ashlynn O. Edwards discovered music at an early age, beginning to play piano when she was around eight years old. What started as an early connection with the instrument gradually became a lifelong relationship with music and a way of expressing things that words alone sometimes couldn't quite capture.

Ash's musical influences developed along a very different path from the heavier rock and metal that would eventually become part of her life with Rising Sphere. Her roots are firmly planted in the synthesizer-driven sounds of the 1980s and the music of the 1990s—eras where keyboards, atmosphere, melody, and emotion could completely define the character of a song.

In 2006, Ash moved to Humboldt County in Northern California. Roughly two years later, she met J.H.

By her own recollection, J.H. was something of a mess at the time.

What began as a friendship would eventually develop into a creative partnership, and years later that connection became an important part of Rising Sphere.

Playing alongside J.H. required Ash to step considerably outside the musical style she had known. Piano and keyboards suddenly had to find their place among distorted guitars, heavy drums, darker themes, and music that could move from quiet atmospheric passages into powerful rock and metal.

Rather than abandoning her own musical identity, she learned how to adapt it.

The melodic and atmospheric qualities of her earlier influences became something she could bring into Rising Sphere's heavier foundation. At the same time, working with J.H. pushed her to approach her instruments differently and expand the way she thought about writing and performing music.

She'll even admit that it made her a better musician.

She simply prefers not to admit that particular fact to J.H. any more often than absolutely necessary.

Within Rising Sphere, Ashlynn contributes keyboards and piano while also taking an active role in songwriting and the creative development surrounding the band's music. Her contributions often provide another dimension beneath the guitars and vocals—the atmosphere, melody, and emotional texture that can turn a collection of instruments into something much larger.

The relationship between the members of Rising Sphere extends beyond simply playing music together. Despite the occasional difference in generations, backgrounds, and musical tastes, Ash has described how the younger members have gradually come to look toward J.H. as almost like the grandfather of the group.

There is respect behind the joking.

And probably a considerable amount of joking behind the respect.

For Ash, becoming part of Rising Sphere has meant learning how two seemingly different musical worlds can exist together. The synthesizers, piano, melodies, and atmosphere that shaped her musical beginnings didn't have to disappear when the guitars became heavier.

They simply had to evolve.

And somewhere between those different worlds, Ashlynn found her own place within the Rising Sphere.
